NICE TO MEET YOU

Jerica Lamar

is a U.S. Foreign Service Officer with 10 years of experience serving at U.S. embassies in Kenya, Jamaica, and Mexico and in Washington D.C. She has received three Superior Honor Awards from the State Department for her work in press operations and efficiency improvements.  As a Peace Corps volunteer, community college/university educator, and Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Jerica understands firsthand the transformative power of education and global opportunities.

 After winning over $450,000 in scholarships to fund her own education, she founded The New College Perspective to help first-generation, second-generation, and underrepresented students access similar opportunities.  Jerica has been featured by the Fulbright Association for her work empowering students to pursue global education.

She currently serves on two education boards: the Robertson Foundation for Government and My Tribe Media.  Through virtual sessions, her award-winning podcast, and online resources, Jerica has reached thousands of students worldwide with practical strategies for scholarships, career development, and international opportunities.
